Better Collaboration • NYC • 2019
I was invited to help a global coalition of international NGOs launch a new collaborative platform in the Children’s Care sector.
In a sector dedicated to getting children out of harmful institutions and off the street, into the care of families, you might be surprised to learn that competition over scarce resources and IP dominate the dynamics between organizations that wish they could collaborate better.
When I was introduced to this client, they described a situation in which back-channel narratives and cut-throat competition dictate the rules of the game.
Using ethnographic interviews, collaborative design process, and generative dialogue facilitation, I helped a cross-sector coalition have difficult, honest conversation, collaborate better, and ultimately launch a collaborative platform for the children’s care network.
